Use two bases

Our suggested first-week structure is three nights in Lisbon and three in Porto, with the final day for departure. Add Sintra during the Lisbon portion if palaces matter most. This reduces hotel changes and avoids treating the Algarve as a quick extra stop.

Count the transfer

Check CP for the train, stations and fare on your date. Allow for checkout, luggage and reaching the next accommodation. A travel day cannot carry the same sightseeing load as a full day based in one city.

Reserve selectively

Book one key Sintra attraction, an important Porto visit and any special dinner first. Keep walks flexible. Use the detailed seven-day itinerary for a day-by-day outline and the budget reference to distinguish fares from room and meal estimates. A shorter checklist leaves room to enjoy unexpected discoveries.
