Keep the first day small
Choose one booked attraction and a manageable neighbourhood walk. Ribeira is atmospheric, but the return uphill can be tiring with a pushchair. Check entrances and lift access rather than assuming every central route is step-free.
Mix a visit with a pause
The gardens at Palácio de Cristal offer an outdoor break; Serralves provides a different museum-and-park day. Check current programmes and family admission rules. Age categories vary between attractions, so bring any proof required for a concession.
Plan around energy
Keep snacks, water and a weather layer available. An early meal can work better than waiting for a crowded dinner service. Confirm transport rules for each child. If you add Gaia, choose one river crossing and one activity rather than stacking a bridge walk, cellar tour and another climb into the afternoon.
