Bairro Alto suits a bar-oriented walk; Cais do Sodré is another evening focal point. For fado or a concert, choose a programme and book it separately. A lively street does not guarantee the type of music you want.
Check the actual venue
Read opening times, entry conditions and any minimum spend. Decide whether dinner is included or a separate plan. A place that works for an early drink may feel very different later, so choose the timing as carefully as the location.
Plan the return
Check the last useful transport connection and a backup. Keep belongings close and avoid loud conversations outside residents’ windows. Set your budget before moving between venues. If the next morning includes a timed palace or train booking, a shorter evening is the more comfortable choice.
