Choose the day you want

Pick Sintra for a palace-focused visit or Cascais for town and coastal time. They can be combined with careful transport planning, but each fills a comfortable day by itself. A first trip is easier when one is the main destination.

Use the correct departure point

Check CP for your exact journey. Cascais services use Cais do Sodré; Sintra needs the appropriate Sintra-line service. Include the journey from the destination station to the attraction, especially on the palace hill.

Book the difficult part first

For Sintra, arrange the main timed visit and allow generous transport time. For the coast, check weather and return options before choosing a distant beach. Longer trips beyond Lisbon need a full plan rather than a promise that every destination is an easy one-hour journey.
