Keep the geography clear
Ilha de Tavira belongs to the eastern Algarve, not Aljezur on the west coast. Ponta da Piedade is a coastal rock landscape near Lagos, not one broad sandy beach. Some coves involve long stairs; check access before a family outing.
Check the conditions
Follow flags and marked routes, stay away from cliff edges and avoid sitting beneath unstable rock. Sea activities depend on conditions and current rules. Ask about cancellations and inclusions. Bring water and check the return connection before heading to an island beach; do not assume ferries run at the same frequency all year.
